A Dead Poet's Muse

A mundane moonlit night
Skies are reigned by atrocious thunders
A restless poet's mind quivers
Lost in an abyss of verbal plunder.

Thoughts explode yet words falter
A skeptic's muse goes unheard
Numbness grips, it fails to cease
Every ecstasy seems absurd.

An ink dipped quill is left untouched
Leaving behind an eternal trial
A classic sonnet is still incomplete
A writer's surreal senses fail.

An enstranged aura of gloom engulfs
An esoteric fanatic's mind is still and mute
Thoughts banish into timeless oblivion, A muzzy mind
Succumbs to symphonies of a distant lute.

Obscurity fades, Sun rays lock in tight embrace
Marking revival of a lucid dawn
Esctatic thoughts etch my pensive mind
The dead poet in me is (re)born.
