Entangled in venomous numbness
Deathly chill gripped her poisoned veins
Charming hazel eyes that shone
Were now blinded by veil of eternal pain
Her glowing skin lost its angelic grace
She slept forever in death's embrace
Moments before she made a wish
To retrieve her nascent dreams
That seemed to fade into a hallucinating promise
"Let hues of my immortal love
Brighten up his lovelorn life"
Thus ended her fervent prayer
Thus ended the lament of a dying lover.

Far away athwart the island of bliss
Where virgin seas embraced the shores
Where the song of the little lark
Echoed across the lush foliage
Of myriad trees that spread
Athwart the enchanted vales
The celestial sheltered every soul
From siege of savage serpents
Every soul succumbed to nature's seduction.

A mundane moonless night
Clouds of gloom engulfed the sky
Devoid of a silver lining
He sat beside the window pane
Hues of happiness seemed to fade
Pendulum of life aimlessly swayed
Deserted by his shadow
Devoured by eternal darkness
Feeble fingers clasped the wrapped candle
And lit it in the midst of night
Eyes once blindfolded by bizarre darkness
Were now kissed by sacred light
In flickering candle light he sensed
Love that bloomed through several years
Embedded in molten wax
Were his beloved's frozen tears
Blissful warmth embraced his putrid soul
Lucid smile across his lips spread
Veil of darkness slowly moved
Somewhere smiled his lover dead
Caressed by breeze the fire flickered
Molten bits of wax on table lay
He gently picked up every bit
Her prayers were answered today
The candle slowly burnt to death
As every wish of hers came true
Content was her fading soul
All set to start a journey new
Now he witnessed dawn with flawless zest
Her soul in peace was laid to rest
